For 16 years Dove Dance has been on the cutting edge of Christian dance ministry & training. There truly is something unique about our school. This year is sure to prove no different! Our full focus and passion is training dancers to worship the Lord and use their dance as a language to share their faith with others.

What Makes Us Different?
• Christian emphasis in our classes through music, discussions, costuming, and prayer.
• DMA Certified Director & Teachers which gives our students exclusive benefits in training, influence, opportunities, and scholarships.
• Family tuition scale that keeps family budgets in mind
• 70+ weekly classes for ages 3 and up for all skill levels
• State of the art custom built facilities with professional floating floors for our student’s safety
• Certified and degreed staff who have studied how to teach dance to young people
• 100% dedicated to DANCE training in classical (Russian ballet), jazz, tap, lyrical & acro
• We support and co-labor with many local, national, & international organizations and ministries to further the gospel and share the love of Jesus Christ.
• Our large student body conveniently studies at one location giving us the ability to offer you classes with students the same age and skill. This has multiple benefits for your dancer’s training stability and social development.

Dove Dance has touched lives in our area, nation, and internationally. Some of our highlights have been working with the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem and being invited to dance at the Olympic Festivals in China in 2008. We also enjoy working with local churches, the City Rescue Mission, Youth America, Salvation Army, and hospitals in their outreach to our community. Our students have gone on to dance professionally in major ballet companies, contracted in Branson theatres, receive college dance scholarships, and so much more. Most of our students take class for personal enjoyment and spiritual refreshing. We love this!
We embrace each dancer at any skill level as our focus is to “Praise His name with dancing” – Psalm 149:3.
We believe dance is a gift from God for everyone to enjoy!

SPRING UPDATE...

Congratulations to our companies who competed at the recent Oklahoma DMA Competition.  “A Classic Christmas” won overall state production number (12 & under).  We also won overall duet/trio 13& up with Savannah and Emily’s “Come to Jesus”.  In addition, Emily Canavesio won the Grand State Championship 13 & Up ($500 cash award) with her solo, “Love is Not Against the Law”.  All Dove Dance groups received Platinum or Gold scores which was a strong standing amoung our broad range of dancers between the ages of 8 and 18.  There were also numerous personal victories in solos from many of our dancers.

Our SOAR travelling company recently ministered in Enid, Oklahoma and Little Rock, Arkansas on short road tours.  We are excited to see our travelling company picking up momentum and developing into an extension of the heart of our school.  Special thanks to Centerpoint Church and Rock City Church for opening their doors and hearts to our company.

Ballet Magnficat! is coming to Dove Dance for a workshop and performance October 16-17, 2009! We have been blessed by their professionalism and vision of spiritual excellence for many years. Our hearts anticipate a great weekend with BALLET MAGNFICAT!!

Summer Session and Camps will be available for registration on our website.  Our 2009-2010 dance year will begin August 17th, 2009. Registration begins May 1st. Please enroll early to insure your classes and schedule preferences!

Winter Update

Wow! 2009 is off to an exciting start! Our classes are beginning to work on their annual performance dances. Our 16th Annual Recital will be at Oklahoma City University on May 16th at 2 PM and 7 PM. We hope you make plans now to come!  Our ballet department will be presenting the original Christian Ballet “The Gift” this spring. “The Gift” has aired internationally on television for four years through our sister school, Academie de Ballet. We are honored to have permission to bring you this breathtakingly beautiful ballet once again!

Our Christmas Program in December was a huge success. We had the honor of dancing for The Angel Tree Party for children with an incarcerated parent/s. It was a huge blessing for our dancers. We also performed our “Classic Christmas” for our family and friends. Over 60 dancers were cast in this year’s spectacular.

Congratulations are in order for Madison Pride who was accepted into the six week summer intensive in New York City at the American Ballet Theatre. Many would argue that this is the highest honor in training for aspiring ballerinas in the country and Madison is one of a few select young ladies graced with this invitation.

Marissa McCurtain won the acrobatic scholarship at DMA Oklahoma Chapter in November. We are also happy to announce that Savannah Tardibono recently won interview, talent, and onstage question/evening gown at the 2009 Oklahoma Junior Miss Scholarship Program. She was also recently accepted into the prestigious OCU Dance Performance Program with scholarship and received the overall audition scholarship for DMA Oklahoma Chapter in November.  May the Lord continue to shine in our girls as their levels of influence increase for His purposes.

Six of our dancers performed in the Tulsa Ballet and Oklahoma City Ballet “Nutcrackers” this season: Emma Harris, Claire Harris, Madison Pride, Meghan Bradley, Allie Renner, Destiny Teitjen, and Emily Williams. Samantha Maloy, Jordan Eischen, Emily Canavesio, Savannah Tardibono, and Rachel Tice assisted in dance worship for their home churches this Christmas as well. We are still receiving positive feedback from our China Mission Trip in August.  Thank you again to all of the families and businesses who supported our efforts.

Our enrollment for summer and fall ’09 will begin soon. We are expecting yet another full year and hope you will consider being a part.  Check our website on occasion for new schedules and updates!
