We have been busy dancing a various events this past month. Congratulations to our 16 girls who competed at the DMA Titled Solos Competition. Everyone did a wonderful job!!

Congratulations to everyone who won overall places and high scores on their dances! I, along with Savannah, enjoyed choreographing and supporting Southwestern Christian University in their recent production of “The Music Man”. It was a wonderful show and we loved working the four dances with the cast!! Also at SCU, our company performed “A Place for Rosa Parks” for Black Heritage Month. Our traveling company ministered at “A Night to Honor Israel” at Victory Christian Center. It was a wonderful night and we appreciate the kind letter of thanks from Pastor Sharon Daugherty. Congratulations to Michael Tardibono who travelled to New York City for the Billy Elliott Auditions (Broadway Musical lead role), after receiving a private invitation to audition. He did a wonderful
job and appreciates the honor of being given this opportunity!
Join us June 5th at Oklahoma City University at 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM for our Annual Student Body Performance. Feburary Letter From Mrs. Daphne

What an amazing 2010 we are already having!
Our year began with an Oklahoma blizzard that we will be talking about for some time! Although we had to cancel classes for four days, it gave children a chance to be home more and enjoy playing in the snow! As a friendly reminder, we close with the PC School District for weather closings.

February 22nd at 7:00 PM, Dove Dance SOAR Co. will be ministering in dance at “Night to Honor Israel” at Victory Christian Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Pastor John Hagee will be the speaker. If you are in the area, we hope you will come. Pastors and politicians will come together with God’s people to show Israel that we support and love them!

Please keep our companies in your prayers as we prepare for a state competition during the first week of March. We have five companies this season ranging from ages 8 through 18. We have enjoyed ministering at various venues so far this season and are looking forward to competing soon!

Congratulations to all sixteen girls who competed at the Dance Masters of America Titled Solos competition last month. Girls placing in top five were: Jordan Mobely placed 2nd Runner-Up Miss Petite Dance, Emma Harris placed 4th Runner-Up in Teen Miss Dance, Rachel Tice placed 2nd Runner Up in Miss Dance, and Emily Canavesio placed 1st Runner Up in Miss Dance.
Everyone did a beautiful job!

December Letter From Mrs. Daphne,

We begin our winter season with much joy as our students of all ages continue to enjoy their weekly classes and are beginning to work on their recital dances. Each age and level at the studio has it’s own special place at Dove Dance and our staff is so blessed to be a small part of each of their lives.

Our classes will be closed for Christmas and New Years from December 22nd through January 4th. We will have Christmas parties during the last 20 minutes of class the week before we close from December 15th through the 21st. Parents can sign up in the lobby to being a treat or drink on their dancer’s class list.

Our traveling company will be performing on December 6th at Northpoint Baptist Church at 10:30 AM as well as on December 20th at Church of the Harvest OKC Campus at 6:00 PM. Three of our senior company dancers will perform at their home church, Cherokee Hills Baptist Church on December 13th at 10:30 AM.

After the holidays, Dove Dance will be preparing three performances: our solo performance concert, “Love Stories” Dance Concert exploring the various types of life’s loves, and the classical ballet “The Gift”. Details on dates, locations, and tickets will be posted soon.

Our traveling company recently returned from Las Vegas where they enjoyed taking classes with Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, and other top choreographers. Some of our students also enjoyed the DMA Fall Convention held at OCU this past month. Our own Miss Dance of Oklahoma, Jr. Mister, and Petite Miss all assisted in auditions, warm-up, and performance. We are so proud of you all!!

If you are interested in taking a class, we would love to have you!! We are taking new students through December 15th! Please call our office at 773- DOVE or email me directly at dovedanceokc@yahoo.com

Have a Blessed and Warm Christmas,

November Update from Mrs. Daphne

Our fall has gotten off to a wonderful start! We are already in week 11 of our dance year and the students are progressing in their skill, learning new dances, and enjoying Christian fellowship with other students.

Ballet Magnificat! weekend was wonderful! The performance was beautiful and carried the presence of the Lord. The ministry time after the performance was sweet and God’s Spirit touched many hearts. The workshop went well as many dancers enjoyed classes with the company members. It looks like a handful of our students may be making a trip to Jackson, Mississippi this summer for their summer intensive program! For more information, go to balletmagnificat.com

Most of our classes are full but we still have room for teenagers on Thursday evenings, adults on Tuesday evenings, and a few slots open for other dancers ages 3 and up throughout the week in our other classes. Please email us or call our office for availability. We would love to have you join!

Congratulations to Emily Canavesio for receiving the OK/LA student scholarship through class audition. Both Emily and Rachel Tice were invited to dance with other area dancers in the opening number held at the Coca-Cola Events Center in Bricktown. Great job girls! Congratulations to Emma Harris for being accepted into the University of Oklahoma’s Youth ballet program. Congratulations to Madison Pride, former Dove Dance Tulsa student, for winning Miss Teen OCU and a $22 thousand dollar college scholarship. And, too, congratulations to Allie Renner, Emily Williams, and Claire Harris for being cast in the Oklahoma City Ballet’s “Nutrcracker”. We are so pleased to see our dancers continue to excel and expand their experiences. May God be honored in all we do.
